N+P Group
N+P Group has been a major provider of alternative fuels to the cement , lime and power industries for more than 20 years. The whole N+P group moves +/- 2 million tons of industrial waste.
Refuse derived Fuels
Refuse derived fuel (RDF) is produced from commercial industrial sources and municipal sources. RDF has CV less than 15MJ/kg.
RDF typical specification
Netto calorific value (as received) | >13.000 Kj/kg |
Net calorific value (dry matter) | >16.000 Kj/kg |
Ash content | <15 W.-% |
Moisture | <30 W.-% DW |
Chlorine | <1,0 W.-% DW |
Typical physical size | < 500 mm |
Solid Recovered Fuels
Solid recovered fuel (SRF) is typically used to replace fossil fuels. It is a non hazardous material and has CV greater than 15MJ/kg. SRF is produced to the specification of our customers.
SRF (calciner quality) typical specification
Netto calorific value (as received) | >16.000 kJ/kg |
Ash content | <15 W.-% |
Moisture | <15 W.-% DW |
Chlorine | <0,8 W.-% DW |
Typical physical size | <30 mm |
SRF (main burner) typical specification
Netto calorific value (as received) | >20.000 Kj/kg |
Ash content | <14 W.-% |
Moisture | <15 W.-% DW |

Subcoal®
Subcoal® is a new type of fuel, produced via a proprietary technology owned by N+P. The unique feature of Subcoal® is that it is a very stable and high quality alternative fuel, which can be treated in the same way as bituminous coal is typically treated. The Subcoal® pellets are typically ground before being used in a kiln or boiler, and can even be co-grinded together with bituminous coal in a vertical roller mill or ball mill. Ground Subcoal® has a very short burnout time, comparable to lignite or coal dust. These features make Subcoal® an excellent fuel for new markets which are just starting to substitute fossil fuels, or existing markets looking to achieve the final percentages of substitution.
Subcoal® pellets typical specification
Netto calorific value (as received) | >20.000 kJ/kg |
Ash content | <12 W.-% |
Moisture | <8 W.-% DW |
Chlorine | <0,8 W.-% DW |
Typical physical size (not grinded) | Ø 8 mm (length < 3 cm) |
Typical physical size (grinded) | < 5mm |
Subcoal® shows hydrophobic behaviour, the pellets do not dissolve in water and have been stored outside at several installations.
